Night-Time Shadow Play Makes Lighting Design a Hit

Lighting comes to life at night, especially in this lighting design from Down Under that features interactive shadow play.

speirsandmajorThe lighting project was a temporary installment on the exterior of the Auckland Ferry Building, an intriguing structure in its own right, that got community members involved in the design.

“The aim was to create an installation that would go beyond merely projection onto buildings and allow viewers to become performers, by taking their body movements and amplifying them 5 stories tall,” reads a blog post by Speirs + Major about the inspirational project.

The lighting work designed to promote the re-branding of Telecom New Zealand was a collaboration between several design and production firms: YesYesNo, The Church, Inside Out Productions and Electric Canvas.
