Lighting Update for Historic Boston Building

Lux Lighting Design recently was called upon to update the lighting at a historic Boston building as part of an extensive renovation. We used state-of-the-art LED lighting from Italy to highlight some old murals, brightening the overall space. The LEDs emit no UV or infrared rays, which will help keep the murals from fading or changing color. We also provided the new decorative lighting in the foyer and the entry for better general illumination and more stylish appeal to the traditional interior.

Along with the lighting updates, we recognized a need for addressing the color scheme inside the building and recommended color consultant Barbara Jacobs meet with the property owners. Considering the impacts of color before the project got underway saved valuable time and money. Check out Barbara’s explanation of the color psychology and updates involved with the project on her blog.
